Official Title – The Lose Your Belly Diet: Change Your Gut, Change Your Life
Genre – Non Fiction
Book Length – 256 pages
Reading Time – 5 hours
Style/ Plot – Over the past few years, I’ve been interested in microbes and the role they play in our health. Thanks to various podcasts and journals, my curiosity has been heightened.
When I saw this book, I initially thought it will be one of those faddish books. I was wrong.
Travis breaks down the benefits of having a great gut (which he described as having healthy microbes in your gut and ensuring you eat food that protects them).
After going in details to describe how food affects us and how it can be medicinal, he takes a further step of recommending good gut food and how we can make them in his “Dr. T’s Hack”.
There is a lot of learning to be gleaned from this book and he writes in such a way that you’re enabled to make right eating decisions for yourself.
Favourite Quote – The Lose Your Belly Diet is not just a weight-loss plan—it’s an eating strategy that you can follow for the rest of your life.
When people follow fad diets that are impossible to stick with long-term, they stay on them just long enough to hit their weight-loss goals.
Then, they ditch their crazy, unsustainable diet and go back to eating the way they did before they started losing weight. But that’s not how we roll with the Lose Your Belly Diet.
