I woke up this morning thinking it was Friday. This is what the Christmas holiday week does to me.
I was fully dressed in work clothes and ready to catch the train when I realised:
a. I am on holiday (Duh!)
b. It is a Saturday
c. I need sleep
Since I was already dressed to the nines, I decided to go to one of my favourite places in London: Covent Garden.
I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down to think about nothing in particular.
Then it hit me. Today is the last day in 2016.
Depending on your personality, that may or may not mean anything to you.
For me, it doesn’t mean more than the fact that over 365 days, I have grown as a woman in my career and as a leader in my sphere of influence.
I have read and written about materials that have shaped my life in the workplace.
I have learned strategies that have improved my productivity and boosted my confidence.
I learned that exercising everyday is good for my body and soul…and the welfare of those around me as my anger is dissipated on punching bags and not human beings.
I drink more tea and water than I have ever done in my life and it makes me feel healthy even though I have no scientific evidence to back this up.
I can go on and on about all the things I have in my arsenal to equip myself as a remarkable person in the workforce. But that’s not why we are here.
Tomorrow, 2017 starts.
Instead of making a list of resolutions, what systems can you set in place to ensure optimal productivity in your life?
