It had been ingrained in my brain that “opportunity knocks but once”. I believed it for a long time but over the past few years, I’ve challenged that idiom.
If you ask me, I’d say it’s limiting to believe that you’ve got only one shot or that opportunity comes once in a lifetime.
I think of opportunities I’ve missed due to sheer laziness or lack of understanding. Just when I think to myself that I’ll never have something that good happen to me again, something better comes along.
The way the universe is set up, opportunities are like an endless supply of fresh towels in a hotel. That doesn’t mean you should snooze. It means that you should not beat yourself up too much for missing out. Just make sure you’re ready for the next one.
Do you have any experience of recurring opportunity?
