Reinvention

I find that we tend to put ourselves in boxes and worse still, stay there. We think because we have always done a certain all our lives we cannot do anything else.

I wonder where that assumption came from because as human beings, we are naturally able to adapt to different situations.

Physically, we grow and change in different ways. From being teeny toddlers to being full grown humans. Our physical state is ever evolving so why do we think our mental or emotional state should stay the same?

I am of the opinion that once we realise that things don’t have to be this bad all the time, we can tap into the resourcefulness of our minds and constantly reinvent ourselves.

Many people I meet tell me they are either bored with their lives or can’t see themselves in a better position in life.

They simply cannot see a way out of the mundane state they find themselves in.

In some ways, they are right because unless you are able to change the pictures in your mind about the future, the kind of future you want will never be your present.

I know I always sound like a happy, clappy motivational speaker but the truth is I cannot afford to allow my mind get so stuck that I cannot see a way out of a hole.

We all have varying degrees of issues that we face but the key to keeping our heads above water is to tap into the resourcefulness of our minds and constantly reinvent ourselves.

You don’t pour new wine in old wine skins. Neither do you take the same version of yourself into a new stage of your life. Change is difficult and being deterred by change or trying to prevent change is an exercise in futility.

Here is a pop quiz for you: what happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable force?
