The weekend is an opportunity for me to unwind, catch up with people in my world and watch endless TED talks. I love watching TED talks especially the intelligently humourous ones like this one.
This weekend is different though and I find myself trying to recite the periodic table and I’m stuck at Titanium.
I know you think that’s the most boring thing ever but there was a point in my life when I could recite all the elements. Now, I can’t even remember what a noble gas or a transition metal is.
Oh well, I’ve not needed that knowledge in years and I can get that readily from Google. It just goes to show that the fact you were an expert in something doesn’t mean you would forever be on expert level. It is necessary to continuously develop the mind in such a way that it doesn’t fall victim to complacency.
