Lazy Saturday

I woke up this morning with good intentions o. It wasn’t supposed to be a lazy Saturday because I has tons to do. I have a course work deadline (my analytical paper on Manon Lescaut), a proposal to proof read and forms to fill. So there was simply no lazy Saturday plan.

Alas, the well laid plans of men, women and mice often go awry. After preparing my study table and getting my brain food and body fuel ready, I went into my room to get my lappy…and the next thing I knew, I was awakening from a deep slumber! Biko, how does one unwittingly fall asleep?

Grr…I had written this post on my iphone, posted it and just realised I still deleted some parts unwittingly. I shall get better at this.

So what I wrote about was on my study of the book of Hosea. How God told Hosea to marry an unfaithful woman as a symbol of God’s relationship with the Israelites.

I’m not going to write here everything I wrote in my journal but the verse that struck me was Hosea 6:6 where God said “I am after love that lasts, not more religion. I want you to know me and not go to more prayer meetings.”

I guess God is tired of us making countless sacrifices, He desires a real relationship with us…a proper relationship. He wants us to get to know Him (I can actually hear His frustrated voice saying “don’t you get it? I want a relationship with you and not religious activities).

How’s your day going? Since I don’t have cartoons to watch today, I’m thinking of indulging in some ‘Evita’ or ‘The phantom of the opera’. What are you up to?

Have a fabulous day people!
