Music makes me lose control…not really

I had to write today’s post really late. You see, I had a very busy day and just when I thought I would go home to rest and just catch up on some Phineas and Ferb, things came up. Work related things and afterwards, I was required to have dinner at some fancy place and then watch Iron Man 3. Please note, I am not complaining…I am actually happy about the Iron Man 3 part. It is a really good movie and I like everything Iron Man (although I am more like a Fast and Furious kinda lady. All that adrenaline, the dialogue, Vin Diesel and The Rock in the same movie…swoon.)

Earth to people, back to my rant of the day. Music is a very useful and reliable tool for all and everything. As a child, I attempted the study of music and even joined a couple of choirs and had voice training at MUSON. Let’s just say I have accepted my patriotic duty as an ardent listener of music and not as an active musician. At a point, I aimed to be Christina Aguilera’s back up singer but reality got in the way of such high and lofty dream (that’s why I settled for being a TMT Lawyer, fighting for the rights and what not of artistes and players in the creative industry.)

This morning though, I accomplished a feat and it was all thanks to the power of music. I ran 5 miles in 30 minutes and this is not because I was an athlete in Secondary school, it is all thanks to music. I created a new workout list (33 minutes long) and seriously, it is the best thing that has happened to my quest for fitness.

Seriously, after 30 minutes, I was still pumped to continue and this means I am ready for the Insanity workout (that is another story entirely and I am not emotionally stable enough to share it just yet).

It got me thinking and I came to the conclusion that certain things in themselves are not as difficult as we think they are, it is the lack of incentive to do them that make us drag our feet. It is not enough to figure out what exactly one wants, go the extra mile and give yourself an extra incentive to dominate the world (or whatever it is you want to do).

In other news, I saw a vintage telephone over the weekend and I thought I should share with you.

Have a good day people!
